Leave of Absence
Students who must interrupt their studies for adequate reason, such as sustained ill health or military service, may be granted a leave of absence for a stated period, usually not to exceed one year. Students should apply in writing, in advance of the semester for which permission is requested, to the chair of their department and the dean of their school, stating the specific reasons for requiring the leave. The period of leave of absence is not counted as part of the time allowed for the completion of residence or other degree requirements.
Please note: the CUA Academic Leave of Absence Policy does not meet certain Federal Title IV requirements, therefore a CUA Leave of Absence will be treated as a federal withdraw and would be subject to Title IV Return of Funds calculation. Federal and Institutional Withdraw Policy Summary.
