The Catholic University of America is a participant in the Tuition Exchange Program (http://www.tuitionexchange.org/), which allows the children of qualified employees from participating colleges and universities to be considered for this merit-based scholarship award.
Initial eligibility is determined by the student’s home institution. Catholic University receives 70-90 applications each year and awards approximately 10 scholarships to students who have been offered admission as first-year students. For the 2017-2018 academic year, the value of the Tuition Exchange Scholarship is $35,000. This award can be combined with other merit scholarships up to the value of full tuition. Early decision, early action, and regular decision candidates are all given equal consideration in the review.
The selection of Tuition Exchange Scholarship recipients is based on each candidate’s academic performance in high school and may include need-based financial assistance eligibility. However, candidates are not required to apply for need-based financial assistance to be considered for the award.
After the initial Tuition Exchange Scholarship offers have been released, the Office of Student Financial Assistance maintains a waiting list of eligible candidates. If any students decline their scholarship before May 1, the office will immediately notify the next person on the waiting list. In the event that an additional scholarship becomes available after May 1, the offer will go to the next student on the waiting list who has submitted an enrollment deposit.
